Lead Pixel Artist

Pracy Studios is looking for a full time pixel artist & 2D pixel animator for a fully remote position.

We are a small indie game studio based in Canada, founded to make the games nobody else has made. We believe that games should be built from passion, rather than to chase profits. We value games for the experience they can offer players. After the success of our first game, we're looking to continue building upon the world and story that our players have come to love.

Your role
As lead pixel artist, you'll be working closely with the lead designer to determine the overall visual style for the game. You'll create everything from concept to final production, implementing your creative style across all characters, creatures, animations, interface and the world itself. 

Responsibilities

  • Leading the art style and direction for our current title.

  • Creating all the art assets & animations required to launch the game.

  • Bringing characters, creatures and the world from concept to a final polish.

  • Working closely with the lead designer to bring the game's vision to life.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experienced pixel artist who has worked on games before.

  • Confident 2D pixel animator who can create visually interesting work.

  • Excellent time management and self motivation.

  • Technical understanding of pixel art within games, eg: frame rates, lighting, particles.

  • Able to communicate in a collaborative environment, receiving and giving constructive critique within the team.

  • Attention to detail. You are someone who strives to create your best work. 

  • A positive attitude and the enjoyment of working closely with a small team.

Bonus Skills

  • Level design experience.

  • UI / Graphics design skills.

  • Experience implementing art within Unity.
